PXV – Pixela Video File

What is? PXV File Format?

Pinnacle Studio created proprietary file formats called PXV for usage in video editing tools. Project files are generated using the application; these are then stored here. From video assets, audio tracks, transitions, effects, titles, and other project-related data, PXV project files offer a broad spectrum of information.

Opening a PXV file requires Pinnacle Studio, hence if you have one, you will also have to have it. Pinnacle Studio is yours to buy on the Pinnacle website. It is available for any operating system and works with both Mac and Windows machines. Either double-clicking on the PXV file or running the program and then navigating to the file in the open dialog box will let you open the PXV file after you have effectively installed the application. You may find both of these choices here.

Though used widely, some video editing applications are incompatible with the PXV file format. Should you find that you must convert your PXV project to another file type, Pinnacle Studio lets you export it to another file format. Go to the File menu to choose the “Export” option if you want this done. Choose then the format you wish to apply.

You can see the contents of the PXV file even without access to Pinnacle Studio by using a text editor such as Notepad or TextEdit with a suitable program. You will be able to view the project’s related data, but due of this, you will not be able to alter or change the file.

PXV files are the unique project file system Pinnacle Studio uses. A PXV file basically appears like this. Only the Pinnacle Studio application allows one to access it, and it offers a broad spectrum of material connected with video production. Exporting the file lets Pinnacle Studio transform it into a new format. Should you have to convert the file, this is what you could do. Even if you do not have access to the tools listed above, you can still read the contents of the file by means of a text editor.
